Collegiate rodeo visits Murray State for 32nd time

Murray State hosted 10 schools from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Ozark region Nov. 15-17 for the 32nd annual College rodeo. Murray State's mens team and womens team finished sixth in the event.
The winner of the men's division, Missouri Valley College, finished 300 points ahead of second place Tennessee Martin. The win puts Missouri Valley College atop the season standings after five rodeos. In the women's division, The University of Arkansas Monticello continued its dominance and will remain in the top spot of the standings after winning the event.
Murray State was led by senior Derek Lawson who finished third in the bareback riding event. Senior Nikki Jackson finished third in the breakaway roping event for the women's team. After the event, the men's team is ranked fifth in the standings and the women's team sits in seventh place. The team's next event is April 14-16 at Tennessee Martin.

I'm glad to see that some news is still published about Murray's rodeo team. I met a lot of great people during my time with MSU's rodeo team. Hopefully at some point there will be an alumni rodeo!
